Axel Disasi makes Thiago Silva admission as Mauricio PPochetti

Axel Disasi has been speaking about the brilliance of Thiago Silva and what it is like to play alongside the Brazilian veteran in the centre of the Chelsea defence.

Axel Disasi is loving playing alongside Thiago Silva for Chelsea. The pair played together at the back for the Blues as they managed to keep a much-needed clean sheet to earn three points against Fulham.

Disasi and Silva is Chelsea's most frequent central defensive partnership this season, with Mauricio Pochettino using the two alongside each other 15 times this season. Four of those times have been in a three-back formation with Levi Colwill also there, but 11 of those occasions has been in a defensive duo.

"Everyone knows the quality of Thiago," Disasi told football.london after Chelsea beat Fulham. "He's a very great player. He has lots of experience and every day I try to learn from him.

"I try also to help him with my strength. It's good to play with him."

Disasi, as well as the rest of the Chelsea squad, are learning from the 39-year-old Silva every day. The Brazilian centre-back has been playing professional football for way over 20 years now but shows no sign of slowing down at the elite level.

Pochettino, though, when quizzed on the subject in Friday's pre-match press conference, could not shed too much light on the matter. The Argentine confirmed the club have not yet opened talks with the Brazilian over extending his deal.

"At the moment, we are talking with players," the Chelsea head coach said when asked about Silva. "I don't believe the club is talking.

"In my opinion, it's a moment now to work together to try and perform and get the results we want. That will be between the player and the club to decide what is the best for both sides and the future. At the moment, I don't believe [so]."
